The Rochlitzer Sparkassen shot put meeting is the largest top sporting event in the district of Central Saxony. Many outstanding achievements have already been achieved in the gym at the rainbow. Every year, numerous winners of Olympic, World Cup and European Championship medals take part in this event and it represents a qualification opportunity for major international events such as World and European Championships. The sports hall is sold out with 500 fans every year.

In 2024, the Rochlitz Shot Put Meeting will also be one of more than 50 stations on the "World Athletics Indoor Tour" for the first time, a global event organized by the organization of the same name, "World Athletics", which was founded in Stockholm.
